Star Battery Ltd. offers a range of Tubular Low Maintenance Lead Acid (LMLA) Batteries for application in Electric Locomotives & Electric Multiple Units (EMU).
The LMLA range of batteries is specially designed to energize the equipment from disconnected situation (when the Loco / EMU is in Car Shed), independent power supply from a battery is required to lift and connect the pantograph to the grid. Also, in case of an emergency, battery power is used for braking. The batteries are designed to ensure high performance even in very rough conditions. Such batteries can even perform in very dusty atmosphere, high vibrations and varying ambient temperatures, restricted time of checking / maintenance and in continuous charge-discharge mode. These batteries have long life and it is these features that make Star Plus LMLA range of batteries appropriate for use in Electric Locomotives & Electric Multiple Units.
